Allowing kids to drink

Ahem. Creationism is not *law* in any state. In Kansas, the Board of Education voted to teach Creationism alongside evolution. This education board does not create "law," only rulings on general policy at public schools.
The huge majority of citizens in Kansas very much disagreed with the board's decision, and many would have spoken out before the vote if the board had been forthcoming about their intentions. As a result, the state is expected to elect a new board that favors hard science by the end of this year.
In most of America, evolutionism is taught with no reference to creationism. The small exception to this would lie largely in rural areas in the so-called BibleBelt of the deep South, where local schools do sometimes teach creationism alongside evolution with or without the approval of the "law" or any rulings for or against by education boards.
I feel the story about Kansas has been blown completely out of proportion and misinterpreted by the British media primarily to scare Brits and give them a sense of superiority. While I would agree that teaching Creationism to even one non-Christian child is a horrible travesty, there are far better things to feel superior about where America is concerned.

Is there any hope of changing the under-age drinking supervision laws, do you think? Were those parents supposed to have let the kid drive?

Apology accepted on condition that you understand we have a number of things to feel superior about as well

I will say one thing though about not letting kids drink, often they have no idea how to behave themselves in public, and all too often you find pubs with kids running around and misbehaving.

See, we should get them all nice and drunk so that they pass out.

Ah yes, but you've got the completely hyper stage (on alcopops) first, so they drive you completely nuts before you smash them *really hard against a wall!!!*
Ahem.

Er.... is it just me?
I usually donĀ“t have any idea how to behave in public, when I am plastered...
Except, maybe, if I decide to pass out...

Just don't give the kiddies alco-pop. Start 'em on some good hard liquor.

At least 80 proof. Or, failing that, give them half a shot of NyQil. That'll take care of them.
