Now... past gatherings have been well chronicled... http://www.h2g2.com/A479441

I know there's only what!?? Four of us so far attending!?? I still think we should take pictures, eh!?? Of course, I'm planning on dragging my sweetheart along for security... and of course, he has the digital camera... and he knows how to get pictures online, something I've never done... hee hee hee... smiley - tongueout

Good idea or not!?? smiley - smiley

I think it's a good idea too. I'd be happy to write a story for the h2g2 Post that could go with the pictures.

WHHHEEE!!! And I have also thought about bringing a guitar and a tambourine... we could have a "jam" session!?? Hahhahaaa...

Exactly what is the date!?? The sunday after Christmas!?? And at three!?? I think we'll have to change that time until about 4:30, since... I work until three... and having not been to this location(can't remember the name), it might take my inexperienced Denver-driver a bit of time to make it out there...

I think that we decided the Sunday after New Years. Which should be, by my calculations...Jan 7. And a little later will do no harm to me.

The pictures and article are a wonderful idea! smiley - smiley

It looks like the consensus is converging on Sunday, January 7th in the afternoon. I normally work Sundays. Bother. I'd be willing to go however, I just have to take a day's vacation to do it. The Mercury is fine with me. Read all about it in my article at: http://www.h2g2.com/A433298. When I logged on today, I discovered it's been recommended for the Edited Guide! Whoo hoo!

Greetings all smiley - smiley

Yup, people's calculations are corect that the date is the 7th of January. I have no problems with the proposed time change, except that since 4:30 has been recommended we should shave ten minutes off that so we can get a 42 in there (4:20) smiley - smileysmiley - smiley

Pictures sound like a really good idea. I've been wanting to get a picture of me on the site, but don't have a camera to do so.

I'm sorry to hear that Sunday doesn't exactly work for you, but still glad to hear that you may still be able to make it. smiley - smiley

I hope you don't mind, but I added the link to your Mercury Cafe page to the Denver Get Together page so people could more easily look up more info on it. smiley - smiley

Phoenix,

Linking to the article is fine with me. I'm still a bit gobberflasted that it's been recommended for inclusion in the edited guide.

Anyone around on 17 June

I'm just posting here to contact various Denver-based researchers, rather than writing separate messages on all their homepages.

I'm stopping over in Denver from late Friday 15th to Sunday 17th, on the way from London to a trail-repairing holiday in the Rocky Mountain National Park. I'm free all Saturday, so if anyone will be around and fancies meeting up for a beer or anything, drop me a line.

Cheers,
P.

Whoops - I should have added that I've already got lots of good advice from Fragilis on where to stay, places of interest, and links to various h2g2 Denver pages, so I'm pretty sorted for general information.

That should have been *16* June

Just off to the airport now. I guess the penalty for impulsive last-minute trips is the lack of time to organise anything with other people. On the remote chance anyone is free/interested in sorting ou a last-minute meeting on June 16th, I'll be at the Motel6 in Lakewood, phone 303-232-4924, from late Friday 15th. (my RL name is Dave Wilson)
