PP: First round of bidding completed!
Number Six Posted Aug 8, 2005
Hey, I'm not having that! I bid for 11 players at a total of £49.2 million, plus (seeing as last time B had allowed reserve choices in the first round) a few other reserve options if those weren't available - in a kind of "I'd be happy with any one of X, x and xx at £1.5 million" kind of way. The way you'd do it if you were doing one of those Fantasy Footballs in real life where it's all started off by a managers meeting where everyone bids.
It was as much about my poor-time management as anything else - I was only back from holiday at the beginning of last week, and then last Thursday and Friday were four times as busy as a usual busy end-of-week because it was the start of the football season. Should have done it last Wednesday but didn't, so I just wanted to get it all over quickly with in one big lump. Master B was well entitled to ignore my reserve choices (which seemingly he did) - or decide to treat them as my second round of bids (which if I read him correctly he's going to) - but when he accepted my bids I reckon he ought to have told me that was what he was going to do.
And there remains an unresolved issue about one player from my first round of bids, who I bid for and hasn't appeared in anyone else's team so presumably no-one else has, but he still hasn't appeared in my team as yet

When you've quite finished, Sir Alex.
If you'd bid for 11 players like everyone else there'd be no confusion whatsoever. Said player is open to the second round of bidders and someone has comfortably outbid you for him. And if you're going to keep nitpicking about the way I run this league, then you can organise it next season, and see how bloody hard it is.

My lord, methinks he protests too much
Well if you win, we'll all know it was due to lowdown scumbag cheating tactics.
...and nothing whatsoever to do with mine or anyone elses poor bidding/team selection

Re: GD's team- Ricardo Fuller isn't a Bolton defender, he's a Southampton striker. Ricardo Gardner is rpesumably the player the Desk has *actually* bought.
