I will update the first round of bids this weekend, which still leaves you a week to bid again to fill in the gaps.
I'm still awaiting bids from GreyDesk, Number Six, Magwitch and Sprout. I know Sprout is on holiday, but I'm not sure when he's back, but he did leave me a contingency plan in case of his absence.

By the way, I'm not 100% clear on the rules, but as I understand it I just pick 11 first team players and say how much I think they're worth - as long as its up to the 50 Million I've got to spend on them? Is that right?

Yeah, dead right. No more than 3 players from any Premiership club. Don't forget you might be outbid for some of your players and have to fill in the gaps next week.

We always have the same problem. Someone forgets (usually Egon, mind) and lets their team go to neglect for a couple of months,

As suggested I shall pick a team of ex-Gunners but I don't hold out ANY hope for my team given that MOST who leave Afc find that their careers have taken a nosedive of massive proportions (the only ones who seem to have prospered in recent times were short-term imports i.e. van Bronkhorst who started about 15 matches in 3 seasons for Afc and Silvinho who was great for 2 seasons but had a dodgy passport and was only a stop gap till Ashley Cole appeared who have both just won the league with Barca). Long may this trend continue 
Is there some kind of 'wooden spoon' that I could go in for? How exactly do I pick my team?

No wooden spoon.
To pick a team simply send me an email with your players of choice (no more than 3 from any current premiership club) and your bid price, up to a total of £50m. You may have to fill gaps next week if you are outbid.
