I'll play. Do I just send an email with bids for eleven players totalling fifty million. Or do we keep some of the money for tranfers in (during) the midseason?
Obviously there will be multiple bids for the same players. Does it just work in a kind of draft till all the managers have eleven players?

I've been to two matches already this season- I do enjoy the pre-season. Lancaster City won both games as well, beating the cast of Emmerdale 8-6 and Blackpool 1-0.

Hi all. Just got back from holidays.
There are no minimum bids this year.
I have received bids so far from Skankyrich, Egon, Andy G, Bubba Fretts (welcome and good luck, btw ) and DD.
Which means a polite reminder to GreyDesk, Number Six, Sprout, McKay, Magwitch and Psycorp to get their bids in before next weekend. And make sure you all subscribe to this page.
Those of you on holiday - if you send me some backup bids in case your main ones fail, then I'll try to make sure you have a full-ish team for the start of the season. Unlike Fulham.

Meh, I'll send bids soon. Although no players may well do better than the 11 I picked last year!

Well, to be fair, your 2004-05 team did a lot better than your 2003-04 team.

Actually, we expect women and Americans to finish ahead of Psycorp, so not really.

If there are no minimum prices this time around: does that mean that I can bid in packets of spangles again?

It does, but the League reserves the right to turn down anything less than a reasonable bid.
Which, in practice, means anything less than 1m (extending to 3m for anyone with international caps [does not necessarily include Scotland])

So if Seth Johnson managed to escape to, say, Wigan he'd cost a minimum of 3m?? Same for Michael Ricketts?? Despite the obvious fact they're both total pants?

My discretion will be exercised.
Although considering I've got a bunch of bids for the same 11 players so far, this looks like a fairly unlikely scenario at the minute.

OK, Master B has me in a Half Nelson so I'm in!
So, seeing as I haven't a scooby how this all works. Please enlighten me.
The players don't seem to have any prices attached.
Not like any fantasy football I've done before...

Never mind, I think I've got it figured.

Sorry, Orcus.
The opening buying operates on sealed bids, sent to my email address. The manager bidding highest for each player gets him - ie. no duplicates, just like real life. If you are outbid, you can then bid again with your remaining cash to fill in the gaps.
