Hi,
This is fascinating!
I remember reading an article in the New Scientist magazine about the 13/17 year cycle of the Cicada, but this article says it better!
If I was wearing a hat, I would take it off

Ooohh errr. What a lovely surprise. A new thread on my Cicadas article. I would have popped over to greet you fine people earlier but I've just this moment found your thread.
Woo-hoo indeed Minesweep Goddess. Thank you very much for your kind recommendation. Even though the article is already an Edited Entry, I really appreciate it!
It's nice to meet you here Doc. Glad you liked the article. Thank you for your very nice comments! Did you see that my Bacteriophage article that you recommended is now pending? If I was wearing a hat, I would take it off too.
I'm working on another article now. It's turning out to be harder work than the last 2. It may take a while. If you're interested in prions, it's slowly growing in the Guide Entries section on my page. It's a bit disorganised and there's about another page of info to add to it. Then I'll probably hack it about a bit to make it's order more logical before I take it over to Peer Review.

ahh!, but it was an edited article as of 27 November 2000, which was *after* my post on Oct 31, 2000, nearly a month after, otherwise i'd say i had a real talent for recommending articles that are already Edited.

Oh yes, so it was! I missed that. You're getting good. I think you've taken on the hardest job: finding entries that the authors haven't put forward.
I expect you've noticed that once an entry gets edited they put it back on the researcher's page under the "Edited Guide Entries" heading and they also put the original back on their page under the "Guide Entries" heading. So then there are 2 slightly different copies of the same article on the researcher's home page - one edited and one not edited. That must make it a bit of a bind when you're looking for interesting entries that aren't yet edited because they can have an edited doppelganger that you didn't spot.
You're a brave and hardy researcher to roll up your sleeves and take on such a difficult job.

Well, congratulations! That's just great. Wear your badge with pride.
Being a Goddess, you'll really be able to make things happen ... get the Peer Review jumping
