Right answer. Wrong reason.

You might as well. I'll tell you the reason I had in mind. The connection between the others is "nuts". Hazelnuts, brazil nuts and peanuts are all edible, but Welsh nuts is/was a type of coal.

thanks for explaining, I had no idea how Welsh fitted into my scheme, so there was a 50/50 chance
I'll try to think of something new then.

great - another one I so studiously tried ( and managed ) to forget-and now you had to remind me
If you have an idea, go ahead Icy

Icy North Posted May 4, 2006
Yes, I managed to forget it too.
OK a new one,
Can you name common 6-letter words which contain 3 of each of the following letters. I'll do the first one for you. No proper names.
a = banana
b =
c =
d =
e =
f =
g =
h =
i =
l =
m =
n =
o =
p =
r =
s =

Whoops, I ddn't see you had posted there!
Shall we leave them both on the go?

Well, if you like you could post what you've got, and the winner will be whoever posts the final one.

there's still more than one word missing, but here we go:
b=bubble
c =?
d=dodder/doddle
e=reefer
f=fluffy
g=giggle
h=?
i=?
l=lollop
m=mammon
n=?
o=Hootoo
p=pepper
r=reerer
s=kisses
t=tatter
y=?
IQ Game
Icy North Posted May 4, 2006
Hmmm,
I'm not sure you can have Hootoo
The rest are OK, but I think you meant "rearer" rather than "reerer". (I had "errors", but that's what the DNA server does to me)
So we have remaining:
c = ?
h = ?
i = ?
n = ?
o = ?
y = ?
Key: Complain about this post
