Yippeeee!!!!

I wasn't being sexist - I just said Emperor and concubines.
I think that you were being very sexist by automatically interpreting the word "Emperor" to be male and "concubine" to be female.
Did I say that? Did I? No.
It's the same job no matter what sex you are, so I only use one word to describe it.
Yippeeee!!!!

You can't wheedle your way out of this one that easily, Mr. Vice President. And anyway you're supposed to make embarrassing gaffs. It's in the job description.
Yippeeee!!!!
Bluebottle Posted Sep 29, 2000
I'm not wheedling anything. I just believe that there is nothing wrong with using one term to describe people doing a job, regardless of sex. Such as "poet" should apply to both men & women. And chairman etc. Why should the term be different for a man or woman when the job's the same? Afterall, You don't have a Prime Ministeress or a Presidentess - so why should you have a word called "Empress"?
Can't stand these rampaging PC people who think any word that contains the letters "m a n" or "h e" or "h i s" or "s h e" in that order is evil and wrong and must be destroyed.
Yippeeee!!!!

Ahem. And I quote from your earlier post:
"Emperor of the Known Universe and his two concubines"
Do I see the word "his" there. I think I do.
Yippeeee!!!!
Bluebottle Posted Sep 29, 2000
And who said the word "his" should not apply to women also? Otherwise it's sexist!
Yippeeee!!!!
