No. What new series? I haven't seen Blackadder Back and Forth if that's what you mean. And to the rest of the forum - several vigilante ACE's have hijacked most of group Silvinho!! As I'm lazy, could someone kindly remind them of the list? Ta,
Balders.

Yes that's the series I meant, I think it's on Saturday nights...but I can check that out for you. Some people are greeting newbies as they appear on the online list...if I see anyone greeting without posting here I will issue appropriate punishment...or set Mina on them.

Done! Complete!
Some had already been greeted by Big Evil Dan, so there was only half of them left for me...
Silvinho? *checking backlog*
16? *sigh of relief*
No, that wasn't me. And besides, I'm no ACE, I'm just a Patron Saint *innocent look*
Sorry if I've stepped on anyones toes (which type of toes, btw?) but I was greeting some 'New this week' earlier, and didn't get here in time to tell... just look at this list! Complete in less than 24 hrs!

No offence but it IS confusing for aces who also have to visit everyone. I've setup a new thread for aces which seems like the least confusing option.

Wow - this one must be one for the history books of h2g2 - never has the list been completed so quickly. Androyd has set up another forum just for Aces if any of you would like to pop over to that forum - you are welcome. http://www.h2g2.com/F54452?thread=78532 All newcomers have been greeted by some one and that is great !!! Thanks Abi for dropping in - a nice surprise :-) Thank you everybody, have a ><> The next list is not due for a while - I will try and get it up as soon as I receive the next list of raw data from the towers. Huggles all round ( why should I be left out - I like a huggle) all the best vegiman:-)

Greetings fellow ACEs!
OK, this is my first time seeing this newcomer's page and I'm a bit confused. There seems to be two different discussions going on as to which groups people are taking to greet. For future reference, which is the better one to post to so that I don't go off greeting the same people? In the other discussion "Aces check here" I opted for groups 2, 8, & 16 since I'd there were some people on there that I'd already greeted before becoming an ACE. I noticed that most of the people on these listed had already been greeted by Kheldar (I think you need a fire extinguisher for your keyboard, with all the greeting you do it's probably on fire ), and got reminded by Baldrick (Hi! ) to check this page for other groups. I eventually gave up on checking each page to see if it had already been greeted and opted to just greet newcomers (and my fellow ACEs ) in the groups I selected a second time.
I realize that, due to it's nature, most of H2G2 is chaotic, or at least highly improbable, but is there any organization to how we're selecting who greets who, without bumping into each other and such? If not just let me know and I'll just stick to my pre-ACE method of checking the Who's Online and greeting people as I see them.
Thanks for the info,
Have a pleasant continued existance.

Thanks vegiman
My comments:
I do not mind *bumping into* other greeters at all!
If I noticed another Angel has already welcomed, then I move on, as we invariably have the same links to dish out, but I like to take note of the new persons traits, ie if they're an animal I give them the link for The Natural History Museum, or mention music in their introduction, give them the link to the h2g2 Choral society....etc..
Also, in return posts, I have found that most newbies appreciate being greeted by more than one person! After all, this is a personal greeting for each newcomer, not just a job for us to do.
I, for one, will carry on greeting where appropriate...

I agree with you, GB - so what if a Newcomer is greeted by more than one person?
(btw GB, I haven't got Messenger at w*rk...)
I've noticed that we all refer to different links, and the more the better, I think!
If a Newcomer has been greeted by an ACE who hasn't referred to the Guardian Angels' link, I usually pop my head in too, and add it...

*thinking maybe she should give Kheldar a GB-hug, quite surprisingly and unexpected, before he has time to duck*
No......I think that's GB's prerogative...
