Elephant handler death

As an aside regarding the elephants at the Pittsburgh Zoo -
An elephant handler died of injuries on November 18, 2002 when one of the elephants he was guiding suddently turned, knocked him to the ground and pinned him down with her her.
The handler had approximately 15 years of experience working with elephants and there has never been an explanation as to what exactly happend that morning.
The elephant remains at the zoo.
