*floating in, in her usual vague, elf-like manner*
It felt very familiar reading this article... just the other day I was shopping, noticing a little girl about 4 years old running around with her younger brother. The girl had somewhere found a plastic knife, and was enjoying herself in the fresh fruits department by stabbing the knife into as many fruits as possible.
They disappeared around the corner before I could react, but after a little while they returned, the little girl stabbing fruits again. I then said, loudly and sternly: Stop it! Stop ruining food!
Of course their mother appeared at that moment, glaring at me for lecturing her daughter.
I glared back at her, turning into 'Kristina the Flamenco Dancer'-mode, and told her sternly: Your kid is ruining the fruit by stabbing it with that plastic knife you see in her hand!
As there are very few people who can stand up to my 'KFD'-mode, she merely responded: Oh! and looked embarrassed... but I bet she didn't collect the spoilt fruit and pay for it...
