Anybody there for a NYC meeting in May?
KayKay Posted May 18, 2001
B******d Beeb. Partypoopers.
I actually found Trillian's Child's page. I actually have to register for the next level of German for next semester. I have to dust off the books and start practicing. I took a semester off from university, and now I'm going back...
Anyway, I am very sleepy, and must go to bed. You can find my contact information on my researcher page. (I'll email you everything else.)
Gute Nacht!

Umm, sorry, I could have spared you this effort by giving the link straight away
So, to sum up: we're going to see each other on Sunday at the Met, with an option for some Weissbier afterwards. And the Great German Solo Bathtub Meeting in an Mexican restaurant in NY is cancelled, with respect to some better proposal

Abi!!!!
"The Official New York City Gathering: May 2001"
The Impromptu New York City Gathering in honor of our esteemed colleague Bossel's visit to our little home town is being held on:
Sunday, May 20, 2001
Time: 12:00 pm (EDT)
Place: The Metropolitan Museum of Art
1000 Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street, Manhattan
("Suggested" admission is $10.00 for adults, but it's negotiable at the ticket counter.)
We will be meeting inside the museum next to the big stairs
that go up in the lobby ... to the left of them, as you're facing the
stairs. Bossel has said that he'll be waving a German flag, St. Shea the Sarcastic might be wearing a Mets jacket, yours truly (KayKay the Krazed) will be sporting a purple and teal paisely print towel (smallish size)genteely draped over her handbag. If she feels inspired, she might wave it about dramatically.
We'll tool around the museum for a while and then anyone who would like to is welcome to join us for beer and bratwursts in Hells' Kitchen (restaurant location to be decided).
See you there! (Unless you're going on the AIDS Walk!)

hmm, a Boston Meeting? Yes please! Boston was one of the recommendations I was given!

.
Logistics, man, logistics.
1. Form Northeastern US Researchers Club
I believe that Shea is working on that one.
2. Convince NEstern h2g2-ers that gatherings are a good thing.
See earlier posts on Apathy. It seeps into the groundwater here. It's sort of like lead poisoning.
3. Find members that know Boston really well and can plan an event that really rocks.
Since I don't know Boston at all, that wouldn't be me. Since I'm also somewhat of an introverted anti-social kind of shy person, that also wouldn't be me.
4. Convince NEsterners that Boston is the best place to do this.
You know that there will be squabbling. It's only natural. The Northeastern US is a huge place! We can't agree on anything. I know some people who call "soda", "pop" . I mean, really! We might as well go to Philadelphia, Washington, DC or Columbus.
5. Notify you so that you can come back and party with us.
Rome wasn't built in a day. An H2G2 MegaEvent is not planned in a fortnight.

Oh yeah... there's a #6:
6. Do not let KayKay anywhere near dates. She still thinks it's the year 2000.

Shea the Sarcastic Posted May 19, 2001
Can I have some of the dates you won't get near?
Oh wait ... you're talking about something else, aren't you?

KayKay Posted May 19, 2001
Ahem, Shea.... dearie.
If I had some dates, I'd share. Unless I really liked one of them. In that case, I'd be selfish and beat you off with a stick.

I have lived in Boston my whole life so I can recomend some cool places for everyone. Boston is pretty central for the NE as a whole, easy to access (trains and buses coming in all the time from all over the NE area and I know where to park so you wont get towed or burgled).
Everyone come to Boston drink party all fun and good.
Key: Complain about this post
