Good Thing to hear that Karlsruhe (Or it`s surroundings) might be a Center of
H2g2 Research. As for Proposals, I would like to offer my 0.2 cents(Euro, which in fact means by now : Almost nothing). I would think we should consider using the Space at
the University of Karlsruhe, espacially the AKK (Arbeitskreis Kultur und Kommunikation).
If we could convince them that this gathering would be a worthy cause, there is lots of room available there in some historic Building(First stadium using reinforced concrete to span the Spectators Places and shield them from SUn/Rain etc. Ther is a HGAll Lying underneath which is quite spacious, at least big enough for 50 or so people to sleep there. So everybody could get a drink and would not have to drive somewhere, if we can find a place in Karlsruhe. Maybe the "Vogelbräu", maybe some Irish Pub. There is another
place, if we would be less then maybe 20 People, then another Place, closer to the
"Beer-wells" could be organised. Anyway, tell me when, tell me where, I´ll be there
(At least if there is no emergency cropping up...).

Hey, Vogelbräu, I forgot about that one. And the Christophsbräu in Gagenau is another housebrewery. If we were realy mobile (i.e one or two non-hooked-on-alc-happy to drive the drunk around)we could do the "best pub tour" of the whole region.

This seems to good an idea. To much, to many. But it would come out as a good entry for the guide to list all the pubs with homeproduce around the area, what do you think Resercher 157591?

By the way I am going to check out what the Hirsch is offering on the 9th and 10th, and if there are rooms in the place. So stay tuned

Oh, I am back before anyone else came along!

Well, the Hirsch has got no program running on the 9th, and as a matter of fact, there are not to many people there on saturdays. It seems they all go out to Karlsruhe and other places. So there is enough space. The Hirsch itself doesn´t offer any sleeping possibilities.

Would you please comment on Mash´s suggestion concerning the Uni in Karlsruhe. I don´t think we´ll need that much space. I am calculating with a maximum 10-15 people coming.

Now this was funny! Trying to look up who is coming I left the Postform, and got stuck on the way back with a ClassicGoo/Alabaster Crossover. That DID look intresting!

Well so far it is Trillian´s Child (We could call her Random, couldn´t we?) ringo, bossel, Pawel and me who are definitly coming. "Nick" seems to be interested and Researcher No. so and so gave the suggestion of KA Uni, so I think he is interested in coming, too. The dutch are waiting for the date of the English meet, so if they are coming is still open.

The date is settled, so perhaps we ought to tell the Dutch. I feel happier with a restaurant or a pub although the idea of the Uni is not a bad one, expectations are very varied as we are such a motley crew, but that's the whole fun of it.

I'll go along with about anything, as long as everyone can afford it and there is an alternative to driving home.

To give this thing some direction: I personaly prefere the Krabbanescht in Holzbronn, as it is a pretty reasonable place (pricewise) and I can go and have a look for hotels etc in that place if anybody confirmes. And exact plans for Sunday could be made that evening, as we then know about the weather, and seeing each other non-virtualy offers the posibility of getting a clearer idea of what we realy would like to do.

I have already informed Kheldar about the probable date, and he will keep in touch as soon as they know of the upcoming british meet.

I will be in a driving state in any case, so I can get 2 - 3 people across the place (depending if they fit into my peugot... )

I have yet to get permission from my husband. That is, I have to tell him. In fact, I might even bring him. It would do him good. So I will let you know if we need a single or double room.

Pawel and me will appear in a VW van, so for us there is no need to book a room... and we can take 2 or 3 people with us for the "daylight programm"

Sorry, E, I didn't expect you really to book hotel rooms for us. You're doing enough as it is. But it may be worth bearing in mind, if we can all get into the same place, that we might get a reduction if we book as a group.
