Rag Tag and Bob Tail?

Salamander the Mugwump

Lovely little article. We have a few round this area too - white, bigger than rabbits. We call them sheep.

No - only joking smiley - laugh

We do have some, really and I have seen a pure white one. As you indicated, they stick out like a sore thumb when there's no snow.

Glad you liked it. Of course, thanks to the *$#£$% foot and mouth trouble, we've had to cancel this year's mountain hare spotting walk. Great shame, it always makes for a great day out and I giggle every time I see them grazing in the open, blissfully unaware that everyone is watching smiley - biggrin

Ever since I first wrote this, I've been meaning to check what actually causes the colour change (I'm pretty sure it's the shortening daylight hours but..?), finish off the article and send it for peer review. Must make myself get down to it.

Serotonin rings a bell regarding an animal's reaction to lengthening and shortening hours of daylight.

Let me know when you take it to PR and I'll pop over and stick my oar in smiley - winkeye

Flippin' f&m is pain, isn't it? We've had the all clear in Leics and Northants, but all the footpaths are still closed - even the canal towpath. I bet it'll be Aug or Sep before we can go awanderin' again.
