I feel kind of insulted. Okay, so some of my pieces weren't masterpieces, but those that were rejected were a hell of a lot better than this. Some of the recent h2g2 writing team entries have been utter garbage *and* they are going against the so called "rules" by doing (supposedly) witty one-liners that have little or nothing to do with the subjects. Come on guys, your early stuff was so much better. And if you make up rules for all us general "researchers" you should at least stick to them yourself too.

Good point. It would be an ideal world if those who make the rules actually followed them.
I am beginning to think they're just experimenting with this thing, and not taking it seriously. Perhaps h2g2 is just a starting ground for something else?
Or perhaps they're just not taking it seriously for reasons I cannot begin to fathom. Just as well. I doubt the Powers That Be are monitoring this thread anyway.

On second thought, maybe it's best like this. I rather like the guide and the bulk of the h2g2 team entries. I guess if there are to be bad and inaccurate entries they should at least be truly bad and thoroughly inaccurate rather than merely mediocre! With this entry, I have a feeling someone's toying with us.

This could be one masterful joke. I wouldn't put it past the Tall One. Then again, he may have had this great idea over a Bovril sandwich and now that the idea has taken fruition and it's spiralling out of control and he can't afford to hire enough people to make this idea work properly he has decided to barricade himself inside the bathroom and have an exceedingly long and hot bath in hopes that when he returns it'll be Y2K and all the computers will explode on impact anyway and his problems will forever be solved.
Or maybe this is all part of his plan. To make the rest of us sweat like we used to between publications of his books.

You are THE conspiracy theorist, aren't you?
But I have to admit I find that one quite plausible............

Actually I hope DNA is reading this. I'd like to imagine he'd get quite a kick out of it. However, I'm sure he's far too busy.
