I would send the Printing Press back in time, along with the recipe for Paper. I'm fairly sure I could build a simple press from the material available in Roman Times.
I would also create an Electricity generator/Dynamo - and if necessary start out with Arc Lamps (dead easy - put too bits of Charcoal very close to each other and pass loads of current through it). As long as I had access to copper wire and Magnets this shouldn't be too hard - could get horses or a Windmill to provide the power to the generator, use wood/bark as an insulator.
I's take it back to eithe the Greek/Roman era or the Egypt of the Pharoahs.
Alterntively I'd give the Generator to Leonardo DaVinci, except he probably invented one anyhow. BTW anyoine seen an entry on Leo?
