Helloooeee 
I'm Sarah and i play...
Clarinet (1st instrument, been playing for years)
Bass Clarinet (cos i've just thiefed one from my orchestra)
Flute (cos it's lighter than a bass clarinet)
Piccolo (cos it'll fit in my back pocket)
Bassoon (technically my 2nd instrument, i could play contra, but i don't have one [sorry])
Oboe (i try at least!)
and various saxophones, which i presume you won't need in a symphony orchestra.
So take your pick!

well.. you take your pick. We're shortest of oboes (no bad thing, if you ask me. 
), but you can pick whatever you want. Although don't expect to get far in the clarinet section, you'll have me and my R13s to fight off; I get possessive about my principle chair.
Saxophones are conceivably an option if we play anything 20thC (again, don't expect this to happen if I have anything to do with it. 
) - Gershwin is always an option, I suppose.
