A suggestion/request:
Perhaps you could list music related entries that are in Peer Review in a separate section. My entry on Buzzcocks (which you have very kindly listed) is currently in PR and I'd love to receive comments from people who have an interest in music, so MuGs are an obvious target audience.

So far, the Musicians Guild has given all the entries on music equal footing. The guide has its own page that only lists Edited entries. The purpose of this list is to include everything, including those the other page doesn't list.
Sometimes, I do put a blurb on the Guild's main page listing the author of the entry and its Peer Review thread, as well as a short description of the entry and why it is good. This was not done in your case, Catwoman, because there are something like 6 new entries on music in Peer Review right now.
Add to that the other important new things going on, like the new University project on Film Composers and attempts to create virtual bands that will hold mock performances at h2g2. Also, aka is attempting to start new Guild features like a Chat page and a how-to page for playing various songs.
I can't keep up! The good news is that I noticed your entry and linked to it from the main page as well as the directory. The bad news is that I don't have time to also do the full description and link to your Peer Review thread.
If *you* would like to go through the Directory and clarify which are in Peer Review and where they can be found, go to my personal space and email me. I will provide you with the administrative login you need to modify the page. Otherwise, I'm afraid your request is falling on deaf ears. I just don't have the time or space to accomodate you.

PS: One possibility might be to create a link in the entry or in a conversation forum below the entry to the Peer Review thread. That way Musicians Guild members visiting the entry will know it is in Peer Review and where to find it.

h2g2 Musicians Guild Posted Jun 29, 2001
Catwoman, I apologize for the rant. I've been in a bad mood lately due to personal things, and it doesn't help that many people at the Musicians Guild have been making demands on my time without being terribly polite about it. Too much work for too little appreciation! Or so it has felt lately. I should never have taken it out on you, though.
Of course, you have offered to help. And I've contacted you about it. Thanks for that. I hope it pans out.
I did finally have time to do a lot of updates today. I've added the Peer Review thread for your entry, along with all the other new ones listed on the Guild's main page that are in Peer Review. I've also set up a category in the directory for musical entries in Peer Review. This will give me (or us) more work to do in the long run, but I hope it's worth it.

Think nothing of it.
I too have had lots of things to cope with recently which is why I haven't yet done anything suggested by you about assisting with the MuG pages. But I will soon. Promise.
Anyway, a virtual rant is better than a verbal rant (in some cases).

Now that the film composers project is
well underway, perhaps other film music
genres might be explored?
For instance: there are rock movies (Elvis
and the Beatles in particular have contributed,
but more recent ones like "Footloose" or
"Flashdance" can also be found.) Then,
there are movie adaptations of stage productions
by the likes of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Lerner
& Loewe, Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein,
etc. Yet another HUGE category is the musical
written specifically for the screen, including
almost all the Astaire-Rogers films, many of
the musicals from MGM during Hollywood's golden age,
and ocasional brave efforts from more recent
times. (Hollywood hardly makes musicals at all
nowadays, but that just means the first one to
break the ice successfully will be justly
rewarded Woody Allen has done some interesting
things with "Bullets over Broadway" and "Everyone
says I love you," even if he did borrow a lot.)
As for stage musicals: are they a subgenre or
music, or a subgenre of drama, or a category
of their own?

Stage musicals have been categorized as theatre, though I think it more fair to call them a genre of their own.
For a recent movie musical, see Moulin Rouge. I dunno about anyone else, but I really enjoyed it.
There are two ways to go about your idea. One is to keep plugging away at University projects. I would recommend doing them one at a time, so there isn't as much pressure at any one moment. Another possibility is to simply encourage people to continue writing entries one at a time.
If you do start up any other projects, of course, do let me know so I can link to them.
