A Conversation for Napster
The Merits of Piracy

Y'know, I was opposed to Napster until VERY recently. Then some [expletive deleted] jacked my CDs. Why should I be forced to shell out $1500 to replace the whole collection? Think I'll download the MP3s, encode to WAV, and burn to CD...

That's where I think Napster has its plusses. I have personally downloaded MP3s of tracks and albums that I had on cassette and vinyl during the 80s and 90s. As I already own(ed) the copyright on those recordings, am I allowed to download the tracks from Napster?
Morally, it's in the balance, but from my point of view, I think I'm entitled.
