The all-day-all-night-no-parental-supervision-superparty started about a week before my 21st birthday. Didn't last very long, though. I quickly gave up constant partying to lie in bed of a noonday relishing the fact that no one was yelling at me to get up. Partying got bumped to second priority. I got to fly solo, though, no roommate for the first six months. That's the only time I've ever lived alone, and it was great.
The first thing in the fridge should have been beer (even if you don't drink it, just seems tradition).
You aren't truly out of dishes until they're growing mold in the sink. Until then they can (normally) be salvaged with a quick rinse.

That is very true, except a: I got very angry at my roommate for having alcohol in the apartment (we're not legal yet--neither of us are 21 for two years and that's the drinking age in the US) and I became neurotic about cleanliness so a dirty dish was a dirty dish! Thanks for reading
