Alton Towers!
$u$ Started conversation Sep 10, 2000
This has already been suggested to me by several different researchers, and due to a recent detour in that direction I can also recommend a nearby campsite. *weather permitting*
Nice and central (Staffordshire). Lots to do, see and be incredibly sick on. I, for one, would not miss it.

I'm not really here Posted Sep 15, 2000
But only if the weather's nice.
And I don't think standing around in queues is very much fun when there are a lot of people.

The gardens are supposed to be very nice too.. for those that aren't interested in going on the rides, so I guess there would be a variety of things to do there ...

And you can have endless amusement wandering around the 'Towers' itself.
The queues are not too bad providing you don't go during the school holidays. Besides, you'll have other researchers to chat to whilst queueing. *take your mind off the terrifying ordeal you're about to put yourself through*

I want to change my vote
I love Alton Towers and currently you can win free tickets at Lycos (it's not actually winning as everyone seems to get them, having now won everytime I've been there ). If we hurried up we could go the week that they have the HUGE fireworks display, it's so cool...except that they have clowns but if we can get past that it'd be fun
I wonder how much that hotel is as I remember that one of the rooms has a free chocolate tap which you turn on and smarties pour out

O.K this is just a random post to ask why I can never see the last two posts on any of the threads?

Y'see now I can read them...this is so annoying
So far I have six tickets but the 'competition' is still running so if everyone joins in then we might get enough to take the whole world...well possibly all those of us who want to go anyway
Go to www.fetch.lycos.co.uk and then enter the 'fetch' game or whatever it's called, you'll notice as it has a large Alton Towers advert on it

The h2g2 servers seem to be playing up again, things aren't loading properly.

So you won tickets then? Thought s
Y'know if you go to http://www.alton-towers.co.uk and then click on HEX apparantly if you find a shovel then you win free tickets too, I'm there now just looking if you find it give me a shout and then I can have 8 tickets

Tinkerbell *tumbleweed* Posted Sep 16, 2000
Apparently if you go for three days in a row you're bound to get a prize and as the tickets are the only thing which will not cost the company money I reckon that tomorrow you're likely to win..if not you can have one of the 6 I have
