Think they were great at doing different types of songs. You know the way some srtists seem to do the same song every time? The Beatles were great at doing ballads, funny songs, noisey songs and all the rest of it.

I think it was both, funny and political. I agree about the beatles diversity, its one of the reasons they're so popular, there's something for everyone.
