My brother was in for minor surgery. The last thing he heard before the anaesthetic kicked in was "and this patient is having both removed, isn't that right?".

In the operating theatre, I was being encouraged to wake up after anaesthetic (for a pre-scheduled - and not totally minor - operation), I woke up quite quickly when I heard the words "What is your name ? What is your name ?" ........
Admittedly, I was in Sicily and the doctor thought I would be reassured by hearing my own language

I heard someone making agggghhhh (as in that hurts noises) then I realised it was me. I was waking up and the operation wasn't over. Luckilly it didn't last long and I was back asleep.
it did take me a little bit of time to realise it was me making the noise. Then I actually felt what I was going agggghhhhhhhhh about. Not fun...
