When you come around you don't want to see..

I has surgery lst year, I had part of my Thyroid gland removed. Its in your throat about two fingers down from your adams apple. I was prepared for looking like frankensteins ugly sibling when I came around as i had been told I would have a half moon shape scar right across the front of my throat,I was ready to deal with that. It was pretty bad as I had 14 metal staples stopping my (now) flip top head from falling off.
What I didnt want to see when I came around was that when I breathed out I could inflate the plastic dressing over the wound as air passed through my holey throat.
If your having this surgery you'll be pleased to know the holes heal up after abot 24 hours, at no point did my head fall off and my scar has faded to a much smaller pale smiley shaped scar.
cheers
