A Conversation for d'Elaphant's Apartment (vacant)

Slowness

Post 1

dElaphant (and Zeppo his dog (and Gummo, Zeppos dog)) - Left my apostrophes at the BBC

This takes forever.

I have eleven boxes packed, and there is no noticeable difference in my apartment. With the addition of eleven boxes, it looks like I've brought more stuff *in.* It doesn't matter that I've hauled off piles of stuff to the trash.

The books are rebelling. They have jumped off of shelves at me (a note to people reading this in the future - remove books from the top shelf and work your way down. When they attack books cannot jump very far, and if you remove the advantages of height and gravity at most they can go at your ankles.) and struck me on the head, they have increased their mass while I was carrying them in a box, they have bruised me, scratched me, and given me a pain in the middle of my back. Cheerful Dragon only scratched the surface when she said they breed. They are multiplying. They are hiding under couches, behind chairs, in drawers, on top of the refrigerator. I find them everywhere. It will be a struggle to get every last one of them into boxes. I think they may end up winning.

Enough for now. I am going to pack something obvious, so it looks like I am making progress.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
