Grammar - use of the apostrophe
Researcher 192031 Started conversation Apr 2, 2002
The article on Jordan, http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A413885, contains several grammatical errors:
"entrance fee's" - "fees" is plural, so does not take an apostrophe.
"make the hike's" - "hikes" is plural, so does not take an apostrophe.
"sun is at it's strongest" - "its" is already the possessive form of "it", so does not take an apostrophe.
"these donkey's" - plural. No apostrophe.
"famous for it's mosaic" - "its" is the possessive form. No apostrophe.
"because of it's location" - No apostrophe.
"issue visa's" - plural. No apostrophe.
