If you've just joined the site and are looking for something to do then clicking on Peer Review is a good start. Have a look around, make sure you read the Writing-Guidelines and then get reviewing! If you're thinking of writing your own entry, spending some time in Peer Review first is a great idea.

Your Peer Review Needs You!

It's not hard, you don't have to be hot on spelling and grammar, or know quantum physics. If you think that Peer Review is only for scouts and professionals, or you've recently joined us, then take a look at Reviewer Stage-Fright

The following list will hopefully get you started looking at entries in Peer Review. If you're an author and your entry isn't in this list then don't despair, you are very welcome to advertise it at the bottom of this page, or reviewers can always find it on the main Peer Review page.

  • A4064915 - This entry addresses a language that is widely used in Southern Asia. It looks at how the language has developed and how it is spoken today. It also gives you a few handy words to use when you find yourself magically in Malaysia! Peer Review Thread

  • A3053026 - Sounding a bit scary, this entry is evolving into an entry about fun things you can do with your cat, such as cat bowling and playing the cat-bagpipes... Come and share your experiences! Peer Review Thread

  • A4079252 - What with the amount of tea drunk around here there was bound to be something about tea bags and your character at some point! This entry will delve into your psyche, all from what you do with your tea bag after it's out of the mug. Peer Review Thread

  • A4100374 - Concerning a game, similar to 'Murder In The Dark' this entry introduces us to a game. It does look really rather fun and as soon as we find enough people a game will start and people will be dropping dead left, right and centre! Peer Review Thread.

  • A4058822 - Written as part of a set of three, this piece is invaluable if you are considering ever buying a piano. It goes with A4058958 and A4058967. Peer Review Thread

  • A4078082 - New Zealand isn't well-known for its metal bands, so this is perhaps the only one that has managed to emerge from the country! Formed in 1988, the band has just released a new album called 'Love is the New Hate'. Peer Review Thread

Not sure what to say in Peer Review after you've read an entry? Here are some ideas:

  • What do you like best about the entry? It's great for authors to get to hear what really works, not just where the problems are!

  • Are there pieces of the entry that you don't understand? Let the author know!

  • Can you think of additional pieces of information that would help make the entry more complete? Share your knowledge!

  • Do you see any errors in the entry? Help make the entry as polished as possible before it hits the Front Page!

If you're still stuck for ideas, try taking a look at what other researchers have said in the thread.

Remember that reviewing isn't just for scouts. Everyone can do it and new reviewers are very welcome. Don't be afraid to point things out just because you are new to reviewing, it's all important.

Hopefully this has given you a bit of a jump start, so get down to Peer Review today and help build our Edited Guide
