Hi unifoon,
This is very interesting to me. I spent many weeks in neighbouring Formby in the 1950s, in one of those early caravans parked hidden between the then unspoiled sandhills very near the foreshore and close to the old wooden lifeboat house which was, even then, close to falling down in disrepair. At that time there was an old hermit who dwelt directly on the shore in a wooden shack with a makeshift 'corral' made of driftwood and containing many dogs! The pinewoods, planted in rows over undulating sandhills covered constantly by pine needles was a favoutite place to hide and play and get up to all sorts of things!
It was always quiet and peaceful then. Early in the morning one could hear the mournful toll of the single bell on the Liverpool Bar buoy, and the soft lapping of the waves. It was a time of fewer cars, and the 20 or so caravans were largely owned by Liverpool small private businessmen. There was never any vandalism or criminality evident in Formby or Crosby then. I cannot speak for today's environment, but both these large village or small town places were largely middle class, with expensive properties owned by such as the Liverpool Stockbroking 'barons'. The famous public school, Merchant Taylors, has a College there. An accountancy colleague of mine was an 'Old Boy'.
I think your entry is informative, but might have a limited appeal in the international sense. I am fairly local, living in Cheshire.

Hiya unifoon, I've just posted on your Little Crosby entry as well
Mention public transport and where it is in relation to Liverpool, Crosby is unusually well served by train stations, having Waterloo, Blundellsands and Hall Road
I think you could maybe mention the waterfront, because it's what Crosby grew from, and all the *big* houses down on Marine Parade (my best mate used to live in one, they are worth mentioning!) The Marina and boating lake with all the parks nearby could be mentioned at the same time.
You could mention the plans to make Crosby a terminus of the trans-Pennine trail, going through Rimrose Valley
I think Merchant Taylors' does deserve a mention, and not just because I used to go there, its an important landmark and a nationally recognised school, the same goes for St Mary's

Might it be worth combining your efforts and bringing the Crosby and Little Crosby entries into one? I'm not sure about putting bus routes in the entry as they seem to change every time I go back to Liverpool. A link to the Merseyside transport website maybe? http://www.transportmerseyside.org/

And perhaps a little bit of history about Crosby - how old is it? Does it boast any famous sons or daughters?

I'd echo Jimster's sentiments though - a combined entry might be the best way forward. Great work!

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

If this goes into Flea Market, then perhaps its sister Entry, A4112407 - Little Crosby should too. Then I can get my grubby little mitts on them both and get them into the EG
