Nah, I wanted the neckers on, as a record of what necker my unit wore. Plus, interest badges arranged on a necker look cool

ive got 2 neckers on my blanket. my ranger one which i made myself with a little help from mizzp and a tie dye one i did on a patrol leaders camp.
my guide unit didnt wear neckers.

if you sew your sash on it's also quicker that sewing each badge on they didn't have sashes in my day and Ilost half my badges when I took them off my uniform. (i didn't sew them on my camp blanket until I became a leader about a 7 year gap from leaving guides)

Because
for my blue trefoil (this was what it was before it became the baden powell trefoil) one of the things I had to do was the history of guiding

nicki Posted Jun 5, 2005
ok.
what were the trefoils in your day then?
i had a blue trefoil and a baden powell trefoil.

nicki Posted Jun 5, 2005
well the blue trefoil was still there when i was in guides but there was a baden powell trefoil award too.
the first step for the baden powell was to find out about the history of guiding.
i obviously never read my handbook properly as there is a section in the back telling you all about the different things you can do from 13!

admittedly its in the postscript at the back after the info on the baden powell trefoil.
i did read it cover to cover when i got it. the one i still have now was the second one i owned. i bought a new one when they made the 6 laws instead of 10. it might not have been in the other

i just pulled mine out to make sure i was right in thinking we had 4 trefoils and a baden powell one!
this isnt technically my original, it was my second!
i dont know where my original is, i might have left it with my patrol. when i bought my new one, my old one became the patrol one, as i was already patrol leader. the new ones then had a handbook they could look at and use untill they got thier own. it also meant there was a spare one if someone forgot theirs. i was really organised in them days. wonder what happened when i went into leadership

I find from experiance (I was also a patrol leader) that as soon as you become a guider your brain floats away on little wings

i dont know what happened though. ive id gone into leadership with the same organisation and list of ideas i had as a patrol leader i would have been a good leader and probably have completed the leadership qualification by now.
