Responding to a question about one page ago...
My blanket is covered in badges, I went through a stage of collecting county badges so I have plenty of those, plus some nice foreign ones from various international events I've been to and from people I've met. Mum just bought me an albanian badge off ebay to remind me of the guy I'm having to leave behind in France

Yeah, I've got my Guiding career around the edges and badges from holidays in groups all over the blanket. Last year I finally finished transferring them from my old camp blanket (wool, scratchy, lined with an old sheet, heavy) onto my new fleece camp blanket. The process took about five years . My two daughters have their own camp blankets (more blank than et at the moment) and we also have one for the unit - if we take part as a unit in an event then I also buy a badge for the blanket, and ones for places the unit has camped, and interest badges we've taken as a unit - doubles up as first aid blanket at camp.
Heck of a lot of sewing though - I haven't finished sewing on last year's yet and we're off again in, gulp, ten weeks.

Lots of people *glue* their badges on nowadays ... not on blankets, but certainly on sashes (in Brownies, I mean ... I do hope I'm making sense here).
Hey, this is just like a real campfire - I've just been bitten by an insect!!!!

I've got duplicates of all the badges I had as a brownie and a guide on the appropriate neckers on my blanket too, got that idea from my mum (who has the most impressive collection of badges I've ever seen).

duplicates?
do you not have the original badges?
i have all my guide badges on mine, though ive not got my pin badges as my brother takes them off when he borrows it.

yeah good point.
you could always have sewed the sash on as it was, ive seen that done a few times.
mine wasnt that full as i worked on trefoils rather than badges.
