Ok, what do you want to know about het Kasteel? Arutha and I (and TM as well) are all members of the board. The place is run completely by volunteers, except for two people who take care of everyday things. They're the only ones who get paid. I wrote an entry on het Kasteel. It's over here: http://www.h2g2.com/A405541.
There's a lot of info in there, which sums up most of what het Kasteel is about (the summarized version of course).
What do you mean exactly by: I am curious about your name?

I was wondering what Kheldar meant, or were you named after someone?

Wow! Kheldar! I am so impressed with you. What a fabulous place your castle is! It sounds like a lot of work and organization.

~blush~ No real need to be impressed...just write down what I see and do in there...thank you...
It is indeed a lot of work. At the moment we're all very busy rebuilding the small bar (which you may have heard or read about), and I am very busy with the optimizing of a 'council of volunteers', a group of people who are there to assist the board with operational things, and who take care of most things that concern the volunteers.
btw, the name Kheldar comes from a Drasnian prince/merchant/spy/thief. (David Eddings - The Belgariad and The Mallorean )

*A big streak of lightning goes across the storm's face. The wind stirs the leaves of the sheltering trees around the cottage. Thunder sounds distantly.*
Yes, you do have all those qualities.

Maybe a little. ~grin~
Have you seen much of the Village yet?
Knock Knock
Kheldar (Don't hate the media, Become the media) Posted Sep 21, 2000
No, not really. I've seen a few things, like the crossed purposes bar, your cottage and some other stuff. I try not to interfere in most things though. After all, this place was originally meant for OLD ladies

LOL! I think dinner must nearly be finished. Shall we go in and dine?

Kheldar (Don't hate the media, Become the media) Posted Sep 21, 2000
Yes, I think that's a good idea .
~once inside, kheldar takes a look at his salad. He does a bit of reorganizing with the ingredients, puts the pieces of celery in place, all around the plate, adds a little cream to the whole lot, and sprinkles a bit of salad-dressing on it. "Not bad for an improvised salad", he thinks~

(thinks)That looks like a good salad!
*Brings out the oven baked Parmesan Chicken. It smells heavenly. It is delicately flavored with basil, oregano, and a light touch of garlic, it is topped with parmesan cheese and baked to a golden brown. She serves it with fresh aspargus spears drizzled with butter and sesame seeds, and pasta in a rich cream sauce. There are thick slices of crusty home-made bread too.*
I hope you are hungry.

When you cook dishes like that? If I wasn't hungry, just the sight of that could work up an appetite . It looks delicious

I haven't been down to the Village Pub much yet, I was thinking of strolling over there for an apertif tonight. If you'd like to, that is.

Well, we can always go for a drink, I suppose. But let's decide that after dinner. First things first . Shall I pour us some more wine then?
Knock Knock
mari-rae(tee reads: (entangled in cardboard boxes, please send tape...) Posted Sep 22, 2000
Yes, please!
*She is hoping all this wine and food won't make her fall asleep, which she has a tendency to do. That would be too embarassing. Lots of tea after dinner, she thinks. Then the after dinner drinks.*

~pours wine. wonders if he should make coffe after dinner...strong coffee~
I have to say, it looks very good, and it smells even better . Where did you learn how to cook?
Knock Knock
mari-rae(tee reads: (entangled in cardboard boxes, please send tape...) Posted Sep 23, 2000
Taste it and let me know if it IS good! I was never interested in cooking when I lived at home as a child. After I moved out I started to pay attention when my mother cooked and learned by watching her, asking questions and reading recipes. Do you cook? You make a fine salad!

So sorry, I was just thinking about something else for a moment . Yes I do cook from time to time. When I feel like it, I can even do complete (D**N, why can't I remember what those complete chique dinners are called
).
With many thanks to my mom as well
