Conjecture and speculation..I'll get back to you on that..
<./>writing-guidelines</.>
OK, Edited Guide Entries must be factual, so if you're gonna tell us (for example) a story, you have to verify your source, if it was the Vicar who told you, then I'd believe him

This is a resubmission, superjimlad thought he had to remove the entry while he worked on the updating.
previous PR thread here:
F2119291?thread=2055666
meant to post that in post 2.
I'm going to go check the typos, and post them here, you can edit the entry while it's here, OK jim? Don't remove it from PR again, I really like this entry

Nine different ways of referring to Poling have been found in books these are Palinges in 1199, Palyng 1271, Palyngg 1279, Polynge 1305, Palynge 1341, Paling 1361, Powling 1610, Poleing 1846 and since 1715 it has been referred to as Poling
OK I'll do you the Guide-ML here as I know you have struggled with it before.
Copy & paste this:
Nine different ways of referring to Poling have been found in antiquity. These are:
Palinges in 1199
Palyng in 1271
Palyngg in 1279
Polynge in 1305
Palynge in 1341
Paling in 1361
Powling in 1610
Poleing in 1846
Since 1715 it has been referred to as Poling. The origins of the name Palinges are believed by local historians to lie in 'people or dwellers by the pal or stake' which indicates some sort of pallisade.
I'll post this as I don't want to overwhelm you

This looks good
IMO the title should be something like 'Poling, West Sussex, UK', but I don't think it matters too much - more importantly, have a look at A1286921 - it might jog your memory and help you include something you've missed out

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
