Yes it does need some more work and you need to fill it up with a wee bit more information.
What is " Scotlands National Park"? An small explanation to show the reader what it is exactly would be nice.
You have to check your spelling and your punctuation as well.
So the Clyde is a big enough river to have Navy ships on it is it? I didn't know that and I'm not from the UK so for the benefit of those who don't know you need to supply them with that information.
What were the Americans there for?
Actually I don't know where Glasgow is to be truthful, is it close to the border or is it way up north somewhere.
If there are other small towns and villages surrounding Dunoon, why not name a couple of them?
Why do you need to take a ferry then and what is the"rest and be thankful" road to the town." ?
So there is a lot more work and information needed in this to bring it up to scratch but you have to start somewhere and you'll get plenty of help here.
Cheers.

You could mention some of the local sites/buildings, like Queens Hall being the town's major multi-function hall complex, that Dunoon Grammar School is over three hundred and fifty years old, Castle Toward, etc.
You could research famous personages, such as actor Eric Campbell (of Charlie Chaplin movie fame), and maybe even the Dunoon Family, themselfs.
