h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I'm a fan of star wars.. have been for years.. but, I have to admit that episode 1 was awful. The effects stank, Ewan McGregar's Alec Guinnes impression was laughable.. the kid who played Anakin couldn't act for toffee!
The only decent character (Darth Maul) was criminally under used... I'm dreading Episode 2.
Episode 3? do the words straight to video spring to mind?

I agree! All Darth Maul (ooohh scary!!) had going for him was cool tatoos and being chopped in half! JarJar Deserves nothing less then being tossed into a vat of hungry flesh eating minnows!!
I, being a Star Wars fan, awaited Eps. 1 with barely contained excitment. And like christmas, it was over so soon w/o fullfilling that excitment. The characters were not well rounded, they counted on the fact that most people had an idea about the characters before hand and built on that. The new characters were thrown haphazardly into the film w/o giving them a more stable personality at all. Every time JarJar spoke i wanted to cover my ears and run screaming into the other room; comic relief my a**. And the actor that played Ankain... "Yippi!" Don't even get me started..
The only good thing that came from the movie were the book series Jedi Apprentance, those i enjoy and because of that, i can tolerate the movie a bit more.
Also, if the rumors are true and Lucas has titled the second film "The Attack of the Clones"...well...
My only hope is that Eps. 2 is better and repairs the damage that Eps. 1 has done.

Ep 2 might be better - it's supposed to be more in the vein of Empire Strikes Back, but we'll see. Ja Ja is in it, but apparently not all the way through. Death, I hope, accounts for his later absence. Darth Maul makes a return (hoorah), and there appear to be a load of Bobba Fetts in there as well (which could be good).

Yah and the Clone Wars promice to be an interesting subject!

Attack of the clones? oh my god! what a dodgy title! whatever happened to "balance of the force" or whatever it was meant to be called?
The return of Maul is a mistake.. surely death means death? if he can return from the dead wouldn't it throw the old "one master, one pupil" rule into chaos?
the only saving grace is that the little wooden puppet who played anakin will finally be replaced by an actor!

Im still holding out for this: that withing the year or so he has left, George will come to his sences and make eps.2 better. I mean it can't be worse....right??
