A Conversation for Talking Point: Have You Ever Met Anyone Famous?

Fame? Whats that when its at home?

Why are we so fascinated by people who's only quality we are interested in is the fact that they happen to be known by lots of people. We don't ever fully expect to meet them, so its easy to insult/build up to our hearts content and it won't have an effect on our lives.

What a sad state of affairs. We have people who are famous because they are "celebrities", which basically means they are famous because they are famous - what a sad life to live. People buy newspapers with these people on, simply because people want to know about famous people. But they're not doing anything, they're just sitting there on their fat behinds earning money for nothing, and feeding their drug habit.

Fame corrupts, and create people who rarely add constructively to society. I like good music, I like a good film, and I like to watch a good game of football, but why oh why to we put these people on such high pedestals. They are no better than us, or worse than us.

We need to get a grip and start looking towards ourselves, and stop comparing ourselves to them... because a lot of them aren't very nice people and/or role models. Some are decent people, but only by luck, and they are usually destroyed by newspapers at some stage anyway.

Have a nice day smiley - smiley
