Talking Point: Have You Ever Met Anyone Famous?
Created | Updated May 4, 2005
Celebrities seem to be everywhere these days, some more famous than others, others famous for being famous or being the most outrageous (or foolish) contestant on any number of reality TV shows littering the airwaves today. But have you met a famous face in a strange place, sat next to a star on a flight somewhere, babysat a VIP when they were a snot-nosed toddler or taught a celebrity when they were struggling with quadratic equations as a schoolkid?
Or perhaps you've stumbled upon a star by accident - jammed with The Jam, had a fry-up with Stephen Fry, seen Paula Radcliffe running in Radcliffe or guzzled a Grolsch with Dave Grohl? Maybe you grazed your knees in a kick about with David Beckham?
This week, we ask:
Have you ever met anyone famous?
If so, what was your encounter like? Do you think that heroes should always remain distant, or should we be more nonchalant about celebrity?
What's the strangest place you've ever met someone famous?
Have you ever seen someone famous behaving badly?
Is there one star you've always wanted to meet?
Ever regretted the chance to meet someone famous and you didn't?
Are reality TV stars really 'stars'? Do they deserve their fame?
What is 'celebrity status' and how do you get it?
Tell us of your accidental encounters, star-struck stumbling-upons or shoulder rubs with stardom in this week’s Talking Point. The best contributions may be used for a future entry.
