Well the current Methodist chapel was once a school building, so it is possible that some sort of land rights swap was done?
(Does not the large and well informed CGS site tell you this?

Nope - the school was a Methodist primary, which combined with the Cof E primary - not all that long ago actually. I've met women who taught there when doing my "entertainment" for the Friendship Club
