NO no no, I never wrote fan fiction, thats all mostly porm related from my experience, I wrote serious star wars stuff, like follow ons from the books and the films.
As I said before fan fiction aint my sort of thing, no I have not seen ranma 1/2. But I am a big fan of some of the newgrounds stuff.

There all pretty wierd and some of it wont make sense unless you have seen the original films or played the games.
Some of it is just sick though to. If you wont to check them out make sure you have an add blocker though, consider your self warned.
The last one is a little sick but for some reason very funny as well to me...
Glad your dad is just been sent in for observation. But generally thats how it is with heart attacks, most of the time they are either minor and the individual needs to take an easier life and cut down n fatty foods high in colesteral (even if the person is slim like me, I turn sideways and I'm invisible), or serious in which case he would have collapsed on the floor. It sounds like he had a mild heart attack to me, but then I'm not aware of all the facts.
Hope things work out in the end alright.
Go and have some rest alright, brain shutting down is not to good. take it easy and try not to worry (hey I did say try).

nonononono!
good morning!
yes, there is a lot of porn in fanfiction. like any other artform, 90% of it is s*** but 10% is good stuff. and i'm adicted to the good stuff. i like to read slash because to me, the slash stories (well, the good ones) show more of an equal and balanced relationship than het stories. i usually skim over the more explicit scenes - to everyone their own poison, mine are good story lines and good dialogs. like "lust over pendle" - its a post-war harry potter ff than reads like an excellent mixture of agatha christie, georgette heyer and ngiao marsh. in the entire series, comprising of i think at least 5 novel length stories and some shorter stuff, there are maybe 4 - 6 pg13 slash scenes with draco and neville (takes a moment to drool over remembered dialog).
more later ranma 1/2, you might have seen it, its a japanese cartoon about a young martial artist who is cursed to change into a girl when cold water touches him and back with hot water. this used to be *the* fandom in the internet. i asked because i was revisiting gregg sharp's story page - he is the creator of "the bet" (a formalized version of "what if" stories) and a series of shorter stories about what if somebody other than his father had raised ranma - candidates ranging from the emperor's ghost (star wars) to bugs bunny. good stuff to cheer one up.
its your right and privilige to like or dislike fanfiction, but don't be surprised if i post links for you
i'm off now, going to go with mom to the hospital and see if i can visit dad.

laugh, don't worry I did not have you pegged as one of them ladies who read all sex related things, I know some of it is non porn its just that you have to wade through so much of it (porn related ones)to find some thing with out sex that I don't like to read it.
To be truthfull I have never given fan fiction a chance because of the amount of sex related things in the ones that I have read.
I wont scream at all if you post some links, so don't worry about that.
Hope your dad is better today.

thanks, he looked better, but because it was ccu, i was only for a few minutes with him - not enough ever since we moved to this house, i tried to make sure to spend some time with him every day.
re wading through bad ff: there is a system. most archives have warnings, like ratings (from gen to R to PG13 to NC17) and also about content: slash, het, gen, PWP (plot, what plot?), non-con, hurt/comfort, after a while you learn to scan the summaries and look for what you like (shrugs) if you have a special sf tv programme that you like, odds are that i can point you to some good stuff. and talking of the good stuff:

i missed out on dorothy sayers when comparing it, imagine a lord peter story with, instead of lord peter and harriet, two lord peters, both damaged by the war, but surviving. it's the classic small english village story with an unforgivable or two thrown in
have you read Good Omens? Aziraphale and Crowley practically beg to be slashed! there is a wonderfull short story, i couldn't find the link, where their relationship is just *inferred* - by the fact that hell has frozen over
this link *isn't* slash, (though the author has some of the best GO slash), and it has an interesting view on how heaven works, so it might interest you.

The story was a little interesting, thanks.
The story 'Good Omens' I have not read, but it sounds a little like the preacher range of comics, where a angel falls in love with a demon has a child whos powers can match God;s power and so they lock him up. But it escapes and attaches its self to a human called Jesse who is a Preacher and so is given the voice of God. There is a assasin called Tulip who is an old girl friend of Jessie, and a vampire who does not drink human blood called Cassidy whom like to eat garlic bread.
At the same time, God wants to capture the demon and angel hybrid and so unleashes the Saint of killers, who God created by distroying some mans so much that his heart was full of hatred, and when he died his hatred stayed with him. This leads to him hell where the devil and the angel of death are playng a game of poker. The angel of death is moaning becasue for millions of years the angel of death was just his title and his not used to this whole reaping thing.
Due to the coldness of the soon to be saint of killers heart hell is frozen ovr and so makes a deal with the angel of death to become the saint of killers and to leave hell and go back to earth till needed by God. The sword that the angel of death uses is melted down to form two handguns and the man leaves hell, not before shooting the devil because because the devil shouts out 'Yes leave you cold hearted bastard' as he is walking from the gates of hell' as the saint of killers guns can kill anything and they never miss, run out of ammo or jam and the never wound they only kill.
Que a world under the scenes group (can't remember their name) that are searching for the coming of the messiah again and believe that Cassidy is that one and goes on a rambage to find and capture him, they are not people you see.
Heir Star, a tall bold German, is incharge of the group sent to find and capture Cassidy and has many unfortuante incidents happen to him, such as Cassidy useing a knife to cut a line from his fore head to the base of his neck going over the top of his skull, so his head looks like a male body part. He gets his eye removed at some point too. His leg a lot latter on and in between he gets a female guard dog chombing down between his legs, queing the old qoute of 'My dick is in the bitches mouth, and not in a good way' when featherstone who works for Heir star finds him sitting against the wall with the dogs head between his legs.
The story is brilliant and funny, and is well written. Or at least I think it is.
I don't really watch mush tv to be truthfull, I work through the nights and so I miss any good things on in the day time, and as I do ten hours a night I don't really spend much time awake. I tend to go to bed at 1200 noon and get up at 1930 go to work at 2130 but usually have to start at 2030 (sniff) and leave work at 0730, which leaves not much time to watch tv. Plus I work an eight/six day week meaning I work 8 days straight then get six of, but technocly it is only 5 and a half as Wednesday is my last day but I finish on Thursday morning and then I am back in on Wednesday night not for another 8 days.
But I do read when Ican, I read a lot of Clive Cusstler books especially the Dirk Pitt novels, and I used to read a lot of Star wars books but as I said I don't get much time. I use my six days to write my entrys on here and to sort out things that need doing.
I used to watch CSI though.
Take care

what an involved story! Good Omens is by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gayman (so the comedy is assured)
Aziraphale and Crowly have been the sole representatives of their respective agencies on earth for about 6000 years, so they have become quite good friends , having no one else to talk to. satan's son adam, the antichrist, is born and crowley was supposed to give him to the american ambassador to grow up, but due to a mix-up he lands with a very normal english family in a small english town 10 years later, armaggedon is about to start, but A&C try to stop it because they like human and living among them. i'm not giving any more spoilers
you wrote sometime back that you liked Dogma? there are 2 very good GO/Dogma crossovers at least on the net, and in one the antichrist meet our lady savior daughter of god (the unborn child at the end of the movie).
thank god, most writer fanfictioning Terry Pratchett manage to hit his style and sense of humor.
Dad's going to be in the hospital for a few more days to make sure there are no more blood clots in his system. if they move him to a private room, i'll probably pack my laptop and stay with him.

Great, good to hear. Sounds like your dad will be fine.
I have read a lot of Terry Pratchett, mainly the disc world novels and ones based around them, like Moort, Soul Music etc.
The Good Omens story sounds interesting I will have to order it from the library. At the moment I am waiting for a book to arrive called 'Where Troy once stood' by Iman Wilkens and you gueseed it, it is about Troy and its location. His argument is that the scenes pictured in the Odossy about the battle of Troy does not suit Turkey but rather England, and backs it up with loads of references plus that it was not about a woman but about Tin, which in those days was worth more than Gold, and England was full of it.
I love history so its perfect for me to get my teeth in to it. Problem is I got at least another two months to wait as there are two people in front of me who want to read it, drat.
Take care

the GO/dogma crossover. it will have some spoilers, so you might want to bookmark it until after you read the book. or you might just read it - i bought good omens after reading this.
it's a bother - when i'm interested in a new book, i have to order it from europe, not just go to the nearest bookstore i got interested in discworld because so many people liked it. BTW, there is discworld slash too, but the best one i found was vetinary and DEATH going curtain shopping as a couple
BTW, thanks, i've wanted to save the crossover on hard disc for some time now, but was too lazy to hunt it down again.
(settles down for a read)
PS. did you go to the friday prayer? if yes, "ta'at ghabool"
