I just tried to imagine being blind in a movie theater. You're right. It would be like listening to the radio in a crowded gymnasium with sticky floors.
I once tried to imagine what it would be like to be a dog in a library. Of the two, I think being blind to the cinema seems the lesser of two handicaps.
