Hi there - I see you're still getting your feet wet here at h2g2, so welcome!
It's usually a good idea to spend a little getting to know how h2g2 -- and, more importantly, Peer Review and the Edited Guide -- all work before diving into a volunteer position. One good way to do this is to work on some entries of your own, and submit them to Peer Review for possible inclusion in the Edited Guide. Another way is to spend some time in the Peer Review threads, helping other researchers make their entries the best they can be.
I don't think we're recruiting for sub-editors right at this moment -- but when active recruitment does start churning again, preference is generally given to people who've done some of the above.
Do you have any questions about h2g2, or the Edited Guide, or what sub-editing is all about?
Mikey
