A Conversation for Volunteer to be a Sub-editor

Hi - I'd like to volunteer to be a sub editor. I'm a 4th journalism student, have my own dictionary, and think I know the rules to spostrophe use, so I think I'm up to it. I tend to hang around on collective rather than h2g2, but I hope not being involved in the community much over this side of the fence isn't too much of a disadvantage.

Hi liquidindian and thanks for volunteering.
Before we accept any sub-editors, we like to set them a little subbing test. This isn't to reject anyone, but it's so that we can see if there are any areas we might need to give a few pointers on. I'll be sending out subbing tests to all the new volunteers soon, and I'll make sure you're on the list.
All the very best, and thanks again.

"...4th journalism student...spostrophe..."
Gah, not the best of beginnings.

Don't worry, I can spot the difference between bad typing and not knowing the difference. I should do - my typing's awful!
