A Conversation for Volunteer to be a Sub-editor

I'd like to be a sub-editor...

Hello,

I'd really like to be a sub-editor.

Not just for h2g2, but for life!

I'm slightly addicted to editing, and as an Account Manager at a creative agency I frequently stray outside my remit and get involved in copywriting and close copy reviews. I just can't help it.

I've now decided to take this addiction seriously, and start down the road to be a professional sub-editor.

Hopefully, editing for h2g2 in my spare time will give me very valuable experience for the next chapter in my life!

Fingers crossed...

Hi there, Berecka!

I see that you're pretty new here -- if you think you'd be interested in being a sub, a good place to start is by hanging out in PeerReview, giving the authors there some helpful feedback and having the chance to see how the Edited Guide system works here on h2g2.

Do you have any questions about h2g2?

Hi Mikey,

Thanks - I most certainly will!

No questions just yet, but am sure some will come to mind once I've done some 'hanging around' in Peer Review for a bit.

Shall I get back in touch once I feel I've got more of a handle on the whole thing?

All the best,

Berecka

Sounds like a great idea, Berecka! smiley - cheers Feel free to pop back by here with any questions you come across.

And you might think of writing an entry of your own and submitting it to PeerReview as well -- it's a great way to learn the ropes. smiley - biggrin
