Hi, I'd love to get involved here - I've read all the 'trilogy' about sixteen zillion times and always dreamed of actually creating a usable 'guide'. Probably the only reason we haven't 'met' before is that I can't use CRT monitors (i.e. the old, not-flat sort) so I've just recently got online properly, TFT's having come down in price to an affordable level.

I've got 'O' level (showing me age) English Language and successfully completed a proofreading course with Chapterhouse Publishing Ltd.

I've been unemployed for most of my life as a result of migraine which prevents me from using TV's & old-style monitors, eating virtually anything and being in rooms with strip-lighting; as you may imagine, I've also been prone to the odd bout of depression. I hope now to get some sort of tele-working position, and sub-edding for you guys seems like manna from nirvana in terms of voluntary experience - to give you an idea of exactly how crabbily anal I can be regarding spelling and grammar and so on (I spent my teenage years reading SF while everyone else was watching telly), I came across the 'volunteer' option while looking for somewhere to report spelling and punctuation errors in existing articles (by the way, is there anywhere to report spelling and punct... smiley - winkeye ).

Other interests include martial arts, especially Tai Chi, science, languages (French, Russian, Punjabi, Chinese, Esperanto, Hebrew and Latin [well actually French is the only one I've any real fluency in]) and music.

So, if you ever need someone who knows how many 'r's in 'Jartravartid' _and_ can remember the name of their home planet without looking it up, you know just where to look!

Hi smiley - smiley

If you spot any spelling/grammar errors in Pending or Edited entries, the best idea is to start a new thread in <./>Feedback-Editorial</.>, in the format described on that page. smiley - smiley

Hello Fjaradvax,

Good to hear from you smiley - smiley I'll add you to the list and will be in touch with you soon. In the meantime, it would be a good idea for you to look at entries in Peer Review so that you can see the sorts of entries that are coming up in the Edited Guide smiley - ok
