my number is 202812, and i'd be interested in taking on some editing when such an opportuntity presents itself. i think it would be a great way for me to contribute to h2g2, and broaden my wide but narrow knowledge base even further

I'll add you to the list In the meantime it would be worth you spending some time in Peer Review so that you can see the sorts of entries that will filter through to you once you're a subeditor. I'll give you a shout the next time I do a round of recruitment.
