A Conversation for Volunteer to be a Sub-editor

sub-editing... woo! :)

Sub-editing -- perfect! Really smiley - smiley I was wondering what I could actually do at h2g2 to contribute... then I found the information on sub-editors and thought I could actually be good at something like this (as there are so few things I'm actually good at). I've spent the last seven or more years writing poetry, short stories, and other works of literature. I also used to do peer reviews at the university I last attended (basically, other students approach you with essays or other projects for review, editing, and/or opinion purposes).

Not to mention I spent a year at the first college I attended taking grammar/written communication courses (business college. It didn't matter that I was in for Information Technology and not business... we all had to take the courses, heh). Most people hate grammar; however, I actually like it smiley - smiley No, I really do, stop laughing smiley - winkeye I never let any of my actual work out of my sight until everything in it has been reviewed and re-reviewed... but my journal and weblog entries are another story. Anything I write in my journals or weblogs is usually a rant that comes off the top of my head at high speed with no structure. smiley - winkeye

Hmm, so anyway, I'd like to voice my interest in maybe becoming a sub-editor in the future. My nick is ametropia, and my researcher number is 196373.

cheers!

Dear ametropia,

Thanks for volunteering to be a sub-editor smiley - smiley I've added you to my list and will be in touch the next time I do a round of recruiting. In the meantime, it would be a good idea to spend some time in Peer Review so that you'll become familiar with the sorts of entries that come up
