I've been an English teacher for 15 years and find, frustratingly, that not many people are actually interested in learning the language properly. Furthermore, I'm constantly coming across various solecisms in journalism, and, being rather a linguistic pedant, I now feel I would like to put my knowledge to use through sub-editing. If I can get some serious experience from h2g2, maybe it'll put me in a better position to change my career.

Sounds like you've got the qualities we need. I'll add you to the list and will give you a shout when I do my next round of recruiting. In the meantime, it might be worth taking a look at Peer Review to see the sorts of entries that crop up.
