As a fledgling journalist, I thought what better way is there to cleaner writing than some sub-editing practise. No problems with spelling and grammar.

Sorry. Couldn't resist this: in your posting you spell the noun, practice, with an -s. That's a problem in British English, which is apparently what h2g2 requires. Of course, if you're American you probably think that's too pedantic since the syntax poses no ambiguity. And I have to say you're right.
