i would like to become a scout. please

You're still a newbie, and you're only nine years old, so I guess you'll have to wait a bit and try again when you're older and know the site much better.

Are you fairly new to h2g2? If so, welcome!

I suggest you proceed as follows:

1. Join in with the h2g2 community - Write yourself an introduction on your personal space, let us know a little about yourself.

2. Get yourself known - Contribute to community forums, like Ask - there are some links to these on my personal space if you can't find them.

3. Get interested in the Edited Guide - Read the articles which appear each day on the <./>FrontPage</.>. Have a browse through the guide and see what this place is all about.

4. Write an entry or two and put them through the PeerReview process (very important)

5. Help us to review other people's new entries in PeerReview.

6. When you've become better known around the place then I'm sure you will be contacted here when there's a scout vacancy.


Drop me a message if there's anything you need to know about the process, or h2g2 in general, and I'll try and point you in the right direction.

Anyway, you aren't 9 are you?

I'm fifteen and a half.

Where does it say you have to be over 16 to be considered for a volunteer position lil? Both echomikeromeo and 42donpanic have made it under 16. The house rules state that you're not supposed to use h2g2 without the consent of a parent or guardian if you're under 16.

What's more important (as far as Scouts are concerned) is maturity, attitude and plenty of experience in PR.

i am 9 actully and i thought it would be nice to be a scout.but maybe your right that i should have a look around the place.

I don't know for the scouts and sub-eds, Gosho,but an ACE has to be 16 at least.
