Can we hold the meet somewhere in dorset or the new forest. If it's going to be in Portsmouth I'm not going. I suggest either Poole, Bournemouth or Salisbury.
What does everyone else think?

New Forest's ok with me, but Portsmouth would actually be more convienient, unfortunately. I can take the bus or train straight to Portsmouth from where I am. New Forest means getting a lift with my parents (I can't drive) but I don't mind, its not that difficult to sort out.
Bournemouth is a bit of a pain to be honest. Sorry about that.
If we're talking New Forest, in June, weather won't be too bad either, hopefully.
What were we thinking of doing when we get there?
Actually, we could really anorakish and go to Guildford!

Go to portsmouth if you like. I won't be there. I've got a bit of a grudge against porstmouth at the moment and don't want to set foot there. Just like I don't want to say the names of people I've got grudges against.

It really ough to be somewhere with an easily accessable train station, or it excluded people like me, who have no way of getting there otherwise.

I don't want to go to Pompey, it's got too bad a reputation. and the whole place is made of concrete, i've seen nicer fall-out shelters.
(no offence to anybody from Portsmouth, it's just an opinion. In fact 2 of the best nights in my life have been in Pompey...)

Lots of trains stop at Brocknhurst in the New Forest, including Virgin ones. If you can get to Southampton or Bournemouth, it's an easy train ride from there.

Great news. The 56/56A runs from totton to Lymington and goes through Brockenhurst. It's quite regular too.

June? New forest? sign me up as a possible seeing as I drive through the place everyday on the way from Bmouth to Soton.
Brockenhurst is quite nice, lyndhurst is too and both are packed with tourists from May to September which might be worth bearing in mind...the tourists add an extra 15 minutes to my trip home on a normal summer night and add on 30-45 minutes on a friday...but then they're very entertaining to watch in the traffic jams

And I might (big might) be able to provide transport (in the form of my filthy astra) from soton to wherever (or if it's more popular from bournemouth to wherever)
