Under the header "Stars" you say:
<>
From the edited constellation Ophiuchus it says:
<>
You neither asked my permission to copy my words nor credited me as co-author, and changing just the alpha star example doesn't make it alright.

sorry. I will remove the offending passage. In the past you have allowed me to use your material. In the future I will ask first.

Is it OK if I use this footnote:
>Current IAU guidelines use a plus sign (+) for northern constellations and a minus sign (&minus for southern ones.

shagbark Posted Aug 16, 2008
The opening Paragraph on stars is now a modification of the one I used in my Article on Ursa Major.

Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Aug 16, 2008
I made the constellation template which I gave you permission to use. I did not say you could copy and paste my (written) material into your own entries, and never would, the entries are supposed to be written in your own words.
You'll find I added that footnote to every Edited constellation when Opti said she didn't understand about southern constellations, to make sure the co-ordinates were explained. Yes, you can add that footnote to your constellation template.

first Gnomon is yelling at me
(F48874?thread=5766984 post#10 )
Now it is Galaxy Babe. Sounds like some people are
having a hard week

Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Aug 16, 2008
Gnomon said (in post 10 of your Barnard's Star PR thread) <> which hardly constitutes "yelling".
The fact that I complained because you used my material without first seeking my permission does not equate to me "having a hard week" - it's a justifiable complaint and you should acknowledge that what you did was wrong, not turn it around and blame me!

Why do you include the ufology tripe in this? I could make up a much better story that includes Reticulum in it.

Hey,it's my article. Zeta-2 is a part of this Constellation. You always complain my articles are to short.
Anyway I didn't make up this story. It is an established fact that these two underwent hypnosis and independently said the same story.

It is certainly true that it is your article. It's equally true that the final paragraph is tripe which does not deserve a place in a scientific Entry, unless it is one about mass delusion.
"It is from the latin for net and is an overlay with lines used to mark or measure positions without damaging the instrument." -- you haven't mentioned any instrument yet. Please tell us what instrument you are talking about.
And Latin should have a capital L.
shared two of the stars in Lacaille's later creation -- You don't mention Lacaille until the next sentence, so you shouldn't mention him in passing here.
When all Greek letters are used the remaining stars on a chart are given numbers first assigned by John Flamsteed. -- this suggests that Flamsteed only gave numbers to the stars which don't have a Bayer designation. Flamsteed gave numbers to all the stars, and most have both a Flamsteed number and a Bayer letter.
The size of these extrasolar planets is comparable to the mass of Jupiter -- it's not just comparable to it, it's actually compared to it.

I know Gnomon has strong feelings about that last paragraph not belonging in the EG. He has reviewed enough of my articles however to realise that I will not remove something I consider essential in order to get something picked. Nor will I remove it just because one individual calls it tripe.

Cyzaki Posted Aug 16, 2008
I think that paragraph could stay, if it was reworded a bit to make it more belief than fact, if that makes sense?

Gnomon - time to move on Posted Aug 16, 2008
Yes, that's why we don't have an Edited Entry on Florida, because you wouldn't make a few minor changes to your Entry. Never mind, I'll be going to Florida at Christmas, so I'll write one then.
As for rewriting the ufo thing, what do you suggest, Cyzaki, something along the lines of
"Two loony Americans think they were abducted by aliens! They claim to have been taken to a star in Reticulum."
A39536643 - Constellation: Reticulum the Astronomical Reticle
shagbark Posted Aug 16, 2008
The article never said they were taken to another star system. It said they were abducted by aliens who were from there.
I will reword to make it sound more of a belief system.
A39536643 - Constellation: Reticulum the Astronomical Reticle
shagbark Posted Aug 16, 2008
The last paragraph is now reworded. I am keeping an open mind as to whether or not the conspiracy noted exists. If I did believe in this conspiracy I would wonder if Gnomon was a party to the conspiracy of silence.
There are those who do not believe in Evolution. This does not stop h2g2 from accepting articles on it. Likewise there are those who do not believe in the christian conception of heaven, yet an article I wrote on that is part of the EG.
The point being we can listen to things we don't believe in and allow others to form their own conclusions.

They were able to compare the alien map with Earth maps?
<>
Do you mean "star system"?
<><--- I don't understand that last sentence, what "errors"?
<>
The correct code is Zeta2 Reticuli
You could link to the h2g2 Entry on Hypnotism: A352496 but I don't believe it will bolster your case.

About the map. She drew it from memory after hypnosis.
computer generated maps of what space would look like from other solar systems prompted a UFO organization to pay a university to do a map to compare with the one she remembers. The link I listed as a source showed the maps.
